With a heavy dose of Mean Girls alongside its shameless nods to Indiana Jones, Dora and her new "friends" – including a now-brooding and edgy cousin Diego (Jeff Wahlberg) – are soon swept off on a journey to find a lost Incan city, Parapata. This adventure-comedy lampoons the "gritty remake" trend so hard it comes back around as an earnest endeavour, with an older Dora (Isabela Moner, who delivers a flawlessly perky performance) returning to civilisation after years of exploring the wilderness with her parents – only to face the rigours of American high school culture. Yes, you'll just have to trust us on this, because you almost certainly didn't see it in cinemas. No, it shouldn't be anywhere near as good as it is. Yes, it's a live action adaptation of preschoolers' favourite Dora the Explorer.
